About the journal
A travel publication with a memory.
Wander+Lost Noire began as a place to write about travel—and, occasionally, the entirely unrelated things that travel has a way of bringing to the surface.
The person behind it

I’m a Haitian-American traveler, Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and longtime believer that the “and” will set us free.
As an undergrad, I studied abroad at the University of Ghana. That adventure inspired me to return to Ghana as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Although my service was cut short by the global evacuation in 2020, living and working abroad became the catalyst for the travel, writing and digital-nomad years that followed.
This archive holds all of it: the gorgeous places, logistical messes, questions about identity and privilege, solo-travel loneliness, family memories, Peace Corps stories and the jokes I apparently needed to make while processing all of the above.
Some things have not changed. I still don’t have a plan for a zombie apocalypse because I do not want to survive a zombie apocalypse. I’m still famously camera-shy. And Maia the Shih Tzu remains an elite travel companion.

To wander is one thing. To pay attention is another.
This is not a site about collecting destinations. It is about what happens while moving through them—and what follows you home.
Blackness is part of the lens, not a content category that needs to announce itself on every page. Culture matters. Context matters. So do beauty, absurdity, food, logistics and a good story.
